There are times when we have cursed God because we felt he did not understand our problems of today. We felt he was so divorced from reality; that what happened in Jesus Christ's era, is not what is happening today.
In fact, we now have cars, airplanes, game parks, high rising buildings, more advanced technologies, different clothing etc, and in those days when even the bible was written, there was no such things. The mode of transport were donkeys and camels, they used a trumpet to communicate to people in the cities, they sent messengers on foot to deliver a message to the next kingdom. So, because of all that, God will definitely not understand where we are, right? WRONG!
God knows and he knows no matter how advanced we may think we are. He is way advanced hey, because he made the human mind, which then think through issues to bring to the fore certain softwares and solutions to certain problems.
In his word in Hebrews chapter 3 vs 13, he says "...encourage one another daily, as long as it is called TODAY so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.."
As long as it is Today, God remains relevant, and as long as it is Today, we need to open our ears and hear his voice.
In the same chapter of Hebrews, verse 7 - 8, it is written "So, as the Holy Spirit says: TODAY, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts..."
No matter how advanced we may seem, God's whispers TODAY remains the same. He is still speaking. All we need to do is not be distracted by the many noises in the world caused by our so -called advance lives and listen to him. We need to make our time and give him the Glory he deserves, lest we may be told never to enter his rest.
As long as it is called TODAY, let us strive to lead a holy life, a life worthy of our calling, a life that will make God give us a place in his rest.
Let us pray
Heavenly father, whose presence we marvel at, whose existence is futuristic and relevant in our everyday life, may your name be praised. Lord, may you give us a heart to worship and a mind to serve, Lord, that we may enter your rest. Thank you Lord because you have always been present. Let your name be glorified, TODAY father. Thank you for remaining the same, yesterday, today and forever. Allow us to live within that presence and know that you have made a promise that as long as it is today, if we encourage each other, none of us may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Amen
