Celebrate God

This is an article from the September teachings I did on another platform for ladies. Please be blessed

Greetings Phenomenal women. What an honour and privilege it is to meet today on the Rhema Bible study. Are you not excited and celebrating God to be alive? This week's events for me have proved that indeed, we have loads of reason why we must celebrate God, always. I am thankful to God for everything. So should you be. I mean, are you not glad you are part of a community of believers? Where you know no matter the turnout of the day, you will be encouraged in the Lord. How wonderful to know that we have so many fellow disciples of Christ. I am reminded of Elijah. Having made a public spectacle of baal and his prophets, one word from Jezebel saw him fleeing the land and pleading with God that he may die.

Today the Holy Spirit has allowed me to teach on the subject of love. Do allow me to intrude into your homes.

1 John  3:11, “For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.  3:12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous.  3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.  3:14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.  3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.  3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  3:17 But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?  3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but indeed and in truth.”

How easy it is to think God is out of the picture just because things didn’t go our way. Be reminded. GOD IS ALWAYS HERE.

Jonah was sent to Nineveh but ran away. But the time he did go to Nineveh to proclaim the message from God, all he wanted to see was for that proclamation to come to pass. But the people of Nineveh repented and pleaded with God. Jonah was disappointed to the point of being angry. The Lord wilted the tree that provided him with shelter and he mourned over it but God had to make him see just how painful it was for him to destroy the nation, especially now that they repented.

The revelation that he was not going to die had died to him. The mere thought of him being the only prophet of God scared him to the point of pleading to God for his death. But the Lord told him that he had other prophets preserved for such a time. You see, even those great bible leaders faced such moments. You are the anointed one of God. Overwhelming situations will always arise, but God is faithful.

1 John  4:7, “Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.  4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.  4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.  4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.”

What does this scripture say? We should love one another. We should not love like Cain who slew his brother when he realised that his brother (Abel)’s actions were righteous before God while his were not acceptable.

The scripture said if we hate our brother we are murderers. What then, is true love?  Internally sourced, unconditional, intentional  they love out of the abundance of heart not based on next person behaviour, or attitude.

Keep going just looking at what the word says. Jesus laid down his life for us. How can we say we have love if we have no compassion?

In which category are you? Does the Love of God reside in you? The word tells us if you hate your brother, you are a murderer. However, it’s never too late. Repent and desire the fruits of the spirit.
